Emergency+ App

Do you own a smartphone? Help yourself and our NSW Ambulance staff by downloading the free Emergency+ app.

If you’re ever in need of emergency medical care and aren’t sure of your exact location, the Emergency+ app can access your phone’s GPS to calculate latitude and longitude, so when you call Triple Zero (000) you can provide the critical location details required to mobilise emergency services.

The Emergency+ app addresses one of the biggest issues currently faced by call takers. With 66 per cent of Triple Zero (000) callers now phoning from their mobile phones, many of them are unable to provide their exact location – such as when they’re on a beach or on a long stretch of road.

Research also shows that few people know the State Emergency Services (SES) 132 500 or the Police Assistance Line (PAL) 131 444 numbers, which means their default action is to call Triple Zero (000), needlessly tying up emergency call takers. Emergency+ provides users with the contact numbers and a short explanation of when to call these non-emergency numbers.

The Emergency+ app is available, free of charge, on iOS and Android devices. Click the links below to download your copy:
