Salvation Army Christmas Appeal

Following on from the success of the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal last year, an invitation was again extended to all staff to help the Salvation Army support families in need at Christmas by collecting non-perishable goods and small household items.

This year’s collection was double the size of last year’s and included non perishable food, bikes, baby goods, toys and electronic equipment (including a playstation). Participating areas included State Headquarters, Deniliquin Ambulance Station, Fairfield Workshop, Drummoyne Ambulance Station, Sydney Operations Centre, Hurstville Ambulance Station, Fairfield Ambulance Station, Wee Waa Ambulance Station and Mungindi Ambulance Station.

Rural Salvation Army representatives collected donations in rural and regional areas. State Headquarters and Sydney metropolitan donations were presented to Randy Wood from the Salvation Army on Wednesday 17 December at State Headquarters (photo). The Salvation Army was also presented with the proceeds of the Baxter Bear Raffle, a cheque for $557.

All goods will be donated locally and include a Christmas card and fridge magnet promoting important Ambulance community messages and reminding people to call Triple Zero in an emergency.

Thank you to all staff who donated, your generosity is greatly appreciated.
