NSW Health Volunteers Appreciation Day - Friday 27 February 2009

Volunteer ambulance officer with patientVolunteers Appreciation Day provides an opportunity for us all to acknowledge the invaluable role that volunteers play in both the Ambulance Service of NSW and the wider health system.

The contribution made by volunteer operational officers, peer support officers, chaplains and the consumer representatives of Ambulance should not be underestimated. Volunteers tirelessly give of their time - they are usually quite achievers - someone who gets the work done without the expectation of praise or acknowledgement.

The actions of the Ambulance volunteers do not go unnoticed and Volunteers Appreciation Day is an opportunity to publicly congratulate and acknowledge all volunteers, including staff that donate their time to attend community events, promote health messages and visit schools, for their dedication, support and commitment.

This year also marks an impressive milestone for one of our volunteer paramedics, Mathias Faff, who celebrates an amazing 50 years of volunteering service with Ambulance. More information
