NSW Ambulance was proud to team up with the Starlight Foundation this month to make a very special three-year-old’s Triple Zero (000) wish come true.

Eden and paramedic

Eden, who is battling leukaemia, had the opportunity to explore the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and meet paramedics and other emergency services personnel from Fire & Rescue NSW and the NSW Police Force.

“Obviously we do the emergency work and that’s our bread and butter and we do it every day, but to be able to put something back emotionally rather than physically into the community is great,” Critical Care Paramedic Bruce Schiach-Wise told NBN News on the day.

“It’s also a good reset for the emergency services,” Bruce said. “You could just see the jubilation on his face. He’s turning and looking at his parents, looking at everyone around, looking at the helicopter coming in.”

All involved were glad they could help put a smile on Eden’s face.
