NSW Ambulance has proudly welcomed 33 new paramedic interns and 28 trainee emergency medical call takers today, officially inducting them into the service during a ceremony at the State Operations Centre in Sydney Olympic Park.

With this latest intake and the final graduation of the year, NSW Ambulance has now added more than 850 new paramedic trainees and almost 200 emergency medical call takers since the start of 2025, providing an important boost to frontline health services across the state.

The recruits bring with them a diverse range of skills and experiences, including paramedic intern Meena Rasoli who migrated from Afghanistan to Australia in 2018, and emergency medical call taker Jordan Burr Marsh who was injured on military deployment and required a heart transplant. He subsequently had many interactions with paramedics, inspiring him to join NSW Ambulance.

The paramedic interns will now begin the on-road phase of their 12-month internships at various locations across NSW, before taking up permanent positions in both metropolitan and regional communities.

The trainee emergency medical call takers will be posted to the Sydney and Northern control centres.
