180 permanent staff were trained in pods at St Dominic's College in Penrith and graduated on Friday 8 May 2020. This was a great achievement by our newest recruits and congratulations go to all of them as they start their careers with NSW Ambulance.
As the graduation took place during COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, this group of graduates were trained at St Dominic’s, lived full-time at the nearby Mercure Hotel, and remained isolated from each other for accommodation and meals. The efforts of all staff involved in training these graduates, as well as organising and facilitating the logistics for such a large and different intake, is applauded.
These new graduates started work on Saturday 9 May 2020 across the Sydney metropolitan area as well as in the Central Coast, Newcastle and Wollongong.
