Saving lives is all in a day's work for paramedics but it’s not every day that
they get a chance to meet the people they save.
Ambulance has welcomed a new Triple Zero (000) Emergency Phone Simulator to
be used to educate children about calling an ambulance.
The Ambulance uniform which has been the recognisable face of Ambulance changed
on 10 December 2007. The community can be assured that
the same excellence in patient care remains the same.
Meningococcal disease is caused by a bacterial infection and can lead to serious illness. Infants, small children, adolescents and young adults are most at risk. Early treatment is vital.

Boating collision on
Sydney Harbour
Ambulance paramedics responded to a boating accident in the early hours of the
morning where five people were killed and
and nine others transported to hospital.

Ambulance's Patient Transport Service has turned 10! The service began on 14
April 1998 with 16 trainee patient transport
officers located at 10 stations across Sydney's
Metropolitan area.

Sydney is hosting World Youth Day 2008 (WYD08) from 15-21 July 2008.
NSW Health is coordinating all necessary pre-hospital, hospital and public health
arrangements for all participants during WYD08.

Patient
survey commences
All ambulance services in Australia will be participating in a national patient
satisfaction survey. In NSW 1,300 emergency
patients will be asked to complete a questionnaire.
This information will
inform us how we are performing compared
to our peers in other states.
