Volunteering with GoodSAM

If someone goes into cardiac arrest and Triple Zero (000) is called, up to three nearby GoodSAM volunteers will receive an alert through the GoodSAM Responder app. At the same time, ambulances are dispatched.

As a volunteer, you can choose to accept or decline an alert. You can decline at any time and for any reason – paramedics are always on the way.

If you accept an alert, the app tells you where to find the patient and the location of any nearby Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

If an AED is available on the way, you can collect it, travel to the patient, and start CPR. Once an ambulance arrives, on duty paramedics will take over.
